A case interview is a type of job interview mostly used in the management consulting industry where the applicant is given a challenging business scenario that they must investigate and propose a solution to.

Case interviews are intended to test the candidate’s analytical, problem solving and “soft” skills within a realistic business context. “The case” maybe a business situation or a business case that the interviewer has really worked on.
