How Our Tutoring Services Work
Just give us a call or an email and, after a discussion, we will look for an excellent tutor to fit your needs.
How It Works
- We discuss with you your needs and decide what would be the best tuition package to provide.
- We’ll then email you a tutor recommendation, usually within 24 hrs of the enquiry, detailing the tutor’s background, experience and cost.
- If you are satisfied with the information provided, we will ask the tutor to contact you in order to schedule a (free) phonecall. This is your opportunity to ask the tutor any questions and get a more nuanced feel for the tutor’s approach to see if they’d be a good fit for your child. If you are happy during the call, you are welcome to schedule a first lesson with the tutor. You are free to liaise with the tutor ongoing to organise lessons.
- We will set you up on the system for invoicing. Our commitment is to find you the right tutor and, as such, if you are unhappy with the tutor we initially provide, we will happily spend time finding you another tutor better suited to your requirements.
How We Vet Our Tutors

We only select tutors for interview who
- Have an impressive educational background and/or have evidence of considerable experience and success as an educator (either as a tutor or school teacher)
- Have an enhanced DBS background check conducted within 1 year. (We recommend all our tutors put themselves on the DBS Update Service.)
- Have provided at least two positive references. - During the interview, we further get a feel for their teaching style, background and goals.
- Through all our interactions with the tutor, we are considering attributes like their soft skills (what is their messaging manner like? Are they polite? Are they abrupt / terse / abrasive? Are there any student types they may be more / less suited to?), their efficiency and attention to detail (how detailed are their applications? Do we regularly need to chase them?)
- We value feedback we receive from our clients and partners to further inform and update our picture of a tutor.
All these variables are then considered in conjunction with the client information we have in order to put forward the best possible tutor.
Prices
Every level of tutoring from 7+ right up through to university level tuition is a different service, tailored to the student. Due to the complexity and variable requirements of lessons being either one-to-one, online, group or in-person tutoring, prices can vary so please email us on the contact form below for exact quotes!
Payment
We do not charge an up-front registration fee prior to lessons taking place, and we do not charge tutors a joining fee.
Tutors raise invoices in arrears. We take all regular private tutoring payments easily via Stripe online, providing clients with a receipt of payment for every lesson done. Some lessons may also be paid for with direct BACS bank transfer in certain circumstances. Please contact us with any questions about payment for example, if you need to pay any other way.
Note: Fees are subject to change. Updated fees will always be available upon enquiry. The cost of bespoke programmes for school consultancy or application to a specific institution may also vary from regular hourly tutoring to support the individual needs of students.
Reports
We recommend discussing reports at the start of the collaboration to get everyone on the same page. Reports can be verbal or can be written and sent out after each lesson or monthly; whatever is preferred.
