Athena Tuition works with experienced online and London-based tutors to provide exceptional business studies tutoring.
A business is a structured organisation of people working together with a goal to provide a useful product or service, which it can sell to generate profit and, in doing so, the business has succeeded in creating value.
Business Studies is the study of the details of how businesses function and operate. Businesses interact with each other and individuals in the free market, and this more zoomed-out perspective is what is studied in Finance and Economics qualifications, which can complement Business Studies nicely, for those interested in this area.
Particularly, people interested in entrepreneurship or working in business-oriented companies/roles will benefit from studying Business Studies.
At Athena Tuition, our Business Studies tutors include qualified teachers, heads of departments at schools, G5 graduates, full-time tutors and industry professionals. We also have tutors experienced in overlapping fields, such as Management, Accounting, Economics, Finance, and Consultancy.
Our Business tuition is primarily conducted online; however, we do have specialist tutors who are able to provide in-person teaching in London.
We connect you with tutors who provide tuition across a range of academic levels, including:
Yes! Business tuition is most commonly online.
In-person tuition tends to be at the client’s home, although it can be at a convenient location agreed on by both the tutor and client. In-person tuition does restrict the choice of tutor, as they have to be within travelling distance of the client’s postcode, and it also comes as a premium to online tuition.
Meeting with a tutor in person can be particularly important for younger students, who may not have the maturity to engage well online over a prolonged period. As Business Studies is a subject primarily taken by older students, the bulk of this tuition is delivered online.
Omar is a prize-winning 1st Class LSE graduate and full-time tutor, specialising in Business Studies, Economics, and Entrance Exams (7+, 8+, 11+, 13+).
He has over 8 years of tutoring experience supporting students with all exam boards at both GCSE and A-Level, helping some students move up from a D grade to achieve As and A*s in the final assessments. Omar is also well-versed with the American AP Advanced Placement assessments.
In terms of his entrance exam tuition, Omar has prepped students for schools such as Winchester College, St. Pauls, Haberdashers, City of London and Highgate; a full list available when discussing with him.
Tuition success can be tracked both quantitatively and qualitatively.
Lessons and homework will involve students answering questions, which tutors can mark to give an indication of attainment.
Progress can also be measured at school; if homework and assessment grades are improving, this suggests the tuition is being effective.
Tutors provide reports to parents either on a per-lesson basis or monthly. These will summarise what has been covered in the lesson, highlight any strengths and weaknesses, and give recommendations. They may also outline homework set, so parents can be on the case to ensure this gets done in a timely manner.
The final, and perhaps most important way, to gauge the success of the tuition is simply, does the student enjoy the lessons? Do they leave them feeling upbeat about the subject, looking forward to the next lesson, etc.? From this will come motivation, and then things like attainment targets can almost take care of themselves.
