We understand that medical students have extremely busy schedules, so our private tutors offer flexible scheduling to ensure that any in-person or online lessons are done at a time that works best for you.

Our tutors have extensive experience in helping you to work through difficult material in each one-to-one tutoring session, and can even help you with getting to grips with biomedical research.

What is the medical degree admissions process like?

Medicine degree admissions procedures are more rigorous than those of most undergraduate courses.

As well as challenging academic requirements, Medical admissions involve admissions tests, such as the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) and the BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT), and interviews.

In the USA, the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) is required.

Our experienced tutors will help you adapt to the admissions process.

What subjects are needed to succeed with a medical school application?

Typical offers will range from AAB to A*A*A at A-Level (or equivalent), and most universities will require that two of these A-Levels be Biology and Chemistry. Therefore, it is common that prep for a Medicine degree will also involve some A-Level subject tuition to ensure the scientific base is solid to discuss topics at interview, and to help the student meet their admissions requirements.

Finding the right tutor for your academic journey

Our tutors constitute a mixture of current Medicine students, medical professionals working in the NHS, and Biological/Biomedical Sciences professionals. They can help with both the scientific content and the ethical and pastoral aspects that a Medicine degree also encompasses.

Our experienced tutors have graduated from a variety of universities and so are familiar with the various course structures, such as at Cambridge, where there are 3 years of academic theory and then 3 years of clinical work. Another popular choice is King’s College London, where clinical work is integrated throughout the entirety of the course.
Additionally, we have specialist tutors who can accommodate adjacent yet overlapping fields, such as Public Health, Global Health, Health Systems and Control of Infectious Diseases.

We offer in-person tuition in London and online tuition. Most Medicine students receive online lessons.

One of our experienced tutors

Arya

Dr Arya is a medic and biotech entrepreneur, graduating from UCL with a Master’s degree in Clinical Neuroscience and King’s College London with an MBBS degree in Medicine.

We have collaborated regularly over several years, with him providing Biology, Chemistry, and Medicine tuition to many happy clients. Arya is a sharp and animated tutor, helping students to engage and really stretching those with more eager minds.

He is particularly excellent at Medicine admissions tests, and it has been a pleasure working with him over the years.

How often should we have tutoring sessions?

As a general rule, for medical students, they should speak to an in person or online tutor at least once a week.

These frequent sessions allow the tutor to continuously gauge the success of the student, and make adjustments to their tutoring schedule as needed.

Reporting

After each session, tutors will provide a report to the student in question, and any parents as needed.

This report will cover topics from the session itself, to what to focus on in between sessions.
