What is the 8+?
8+ exams are admissions assessments for entry into Year 4 of private prep schools.
How does 8+ differ from 7+?
Typically, the 8+ format is very similar to 7+, only with more advanced content, to reflect the extra year of learning your child will have done.
English, Maths, verbal reasoning, and non-verbal reasoning are the range of subjects most commonly assessed, followed by an interview.
Schools also typically have fewer spaces available at 8+ than 7+.

Reports
We recommend discussing reports at the start of the collaboration to get everyone on the same page. Reports can be verbal or written and sent out after each tutoring session or monthly, whichever is preferred.
When should I start 8+ tutoring?
This depends on several factors, including:
The target school, your child’s starting level, how consistent they are with practice between lessons, session frequency and how engaged the parents/guardians are in the process.
Commencing tuition 12–18 months before the exams are to be sat is quite standard and allows for a less intensive approach.
